Great Conjunction (Dec 2020)

Jupiter and Saturn closing in on one another for the "Grand Conjunction" of December 2020. Taken 12/02/2020 with Canon EOS t6s 30mm f/6.3 2-second exposure ISO 1600.

Great Conjunction

Although the night of closest approach was clouded out, the next evening was clear with Jupiter and Saturn still close enough to be imaged at prime focus using the Vixen 600mm focal length refractor.

Venus & Pleiades

Every 8 years the brilliant Venus has a conjunction with the beautiful Pleaides star cluster. Composite shot taken April 2, 2020 using Canon Rebel t6s at 200mm focal length, processed in DSS and Photoshop.

Venus-Jupiter Conjunction Spring 2023

Jupiter (above) closes in on Venus on its way to an April solar conjunction in this photo taken from the campus of Towson University. The two would have their closes approach the next evening.

Venus Chases Mars

June opened with the celestial opera of Venus chasing Mars in the evening twilight. June 1st found the Red Planet hiding out amid the Beehive while Venus stops by the twins Castor & Pollux to ask if they've seen the object of her affection.
